Nikontraveler, you're right. We have to vote "NO' on Moonbeam's upcoming Sales and Income Tax Hikes. They will further destroy the economy out here.

Haven't seen an Arco since I don't know when, and I don't buy BP, they are always the highest in price.

For those of us in California, Just remember to vote "NO' On Moonbeam's Sales and Income Tax Hikes. It will only make the price of gasoline go up even more and make California even more undesirable to live and operate a company in.

"It also raises questions about what will happen to gasoline prices when Arco, known as the low-price leader, cuts its presence in the market." I think we know what will happen to prices. Another good reason to exit California, that is on top of wonderful leaders like Feinstein and Boxer among others.

So let me get this straight. BP sells ARCO franchises for stations that they leased from Thrifty Oil. Now they let their lease with Thrifty expire and the franchisees are evicted, loosing their initial franchise fee and any investments they made in the property. BP is a sorry, sorry corporation indeed.

There are plenty of (relatively) cheap brands in SoCal. I'm sure this will make prices at ARCO go up in California as well as in neighboring states. Any excuse.

"...BP remains committed..." but are not renewing franchise leases. What a contradiction?? BP must have come up with a way to make more $$$ from this.

I remember gas stations with price wars, anyone else remember? You'd see gas two or three cents different on "gasoline alley". Now they adjust their prices to match one another. Now they're reducing the competition. This stinks.
