is it the heat outside (which isn't even as bad as in June or July) that's making some folks on here super cranky? It's not even winter yet and it seems, some have the summer equivalent of cabin fever.

if you believe that, I got a bridge to sell to you... a bridge to a piece of land. The problem is, the land is under a column of 3,500 feet of water. But hey, the oil eating bacteria at least have scrubbed that clean.

Just so we're all reading the same rules, which this post certainly follows:
1. Select articles relevant to GasBuddy members Articles should be on the topics of gas prices, crude oil, clean energy, fuel efficient vehicles or related automotive articles 2. Avoid Pop-Ups or intrusive advertising Do not suggest articles posted on web sites with pop-up ads or ads that are intrusive such as flyins or audio. 3. Choose recent articles Articles dated within the last 24 hours are ideal. 4. Keep it clean Do not submit articles that are non-informational, commercial, or are not family friendly. 5. Pump up those good articles Articles with the most votes each hour will move to the main page. 6. Choose Carefully We've recently put a limit of 2 articles per person every 6 hours so choose your articles carefully.

RG, you might want to read the posting guidelines for this site. This has to do with crude oil and hence is quite relevant. If you don't think it is, report it to the admins and let them decide.
Better still, if you don't think this thread is relevant, stay off it.

I'm not sure it's being cleaned up as reported, sounds like more hype coming out of Washington.

I really doubt that this is true. Oil has simply settled to the ocean floor, and it will continue to be a major problem in the Gulf for decades to come.

So now that we've been taught the science behind how these bacteria are breaking down the oil, once the bacteria expands how will we get rid of it? Or will it die off on its own?

You don't see the Obama family eating anything from the gulf do you. Let the cook in the White House cook something from the gulf and you will see a cook lose his head.

Let's wait a year before any major conclusions. I doubt those bacteria are chomping away at 5000' and 40F.

Apparently the warmer waters of the Gulf have have encouraged the bacteria to feast on the oil residual more thoroughly. Time will tell just how successful nature took care of this problem

RG, I've read the news guidelines and have called you on it before when you post narrow-minded criticisms of articles that are relevant to oil and vehicle issues. When you have nothing to say try saying nothing and you won't appear so ignorant.

RG is expressing his usual narrow view of the world. Cleaning up the Gulf is directly related to oil, which is a core issue for this site. Get over it RG.
